Born and raised in Chicago, Tony Nardi started his musical career around the age of 17. In 1966 he joined the US Air Force. During his military service. Tony first played in a band called the Cheques before being posted to Thailand where he formed Salt & Pepper. This band included the gifted young vocalist Eddie Mobley.
After his stint in the Air Force. Tony moved briefly to Louisiana before returning to Chicago to play at the Famous Palmer House. Here major influences on his music were Tommy Rich, a fine jazz guitar player in the band and local jazz great Judy Roberts.
From the mid-70’s, Tony played on the road as a one-man band and toured Europe three times. In 1980 he married the love of his life Karla in Coeur d’Alene Idaho. Two years later they welcomed their first daughter Maria and in 1986 twin daughters Giovanna and Angela. Tony and Karla soon settled in Hot Springs Arkansas and for the next 12 years operated their own award winning night clubs and restaurants.
Over the years, Tony has continued to be featured regularly in numerous musical festivals including the Spa City Blues Festival and the Hot Springs Jazz Festival. In 2010 Tony reunited with Salt & Pepper vocalist Eddie Mobley and they now play regularly as a soul, jazz, and blues group.
